How Installing The Hp Printer Driver In Mac Os Or Os X 10.7 And Later

 

FOR INSTALLING THE HP PRINTER DRIVER IN MAC OS OR OS X 10.7 AND LATER

  1. Opt the menu on Apple and opt System Preferences.
  2. Depends on operating system version opt Print & Fax, Print & Scan/ Printers & Scanners.

Opting a Generic driver option from the Use menu may result in limited printer functionality problem.

  1. Opt Add to add the printer to the list.
  2. Close the System Preferences window.
  3. Try to print, scan, or fax, depending on printer functionality.

Step 1: Connect the printer to the computer or network

Connect the printer with the computer through the USB cable, then allow the software update process to run automatically.

  1. Make sure the computer is switched on and connected to the Internet.
  2. Turn on the printer.
  3. Connect a USB cable to the USB port on  the printer with the computer.
  4. while the Software Updates window displays, follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver and then continue to the next step to add the printer to the printers list.

Wireless (Wi-Fi) connection to the network
printers with a touch/text navigation control panel a Wireless Setup Wizard is available through the wireless button  or in the Setup, Network, or Wireless menus. Use the guided tool to select the network and enter the password to connect the printer to the network.

If the printer does not have one of these control panel types, try one of the other methods in this document to connect.

Use Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
Printer having a basic control panel (without touchscreen/text navigation), if the Wireless Setup Wizard method did not work, apply WPS to connect the printer.

  1. From the printer’s control panel press and hold the Wireless button .
  2. leave the button when the wireless when the light starts blinking.
  3. in two minutes, press and release the WPS button on the wireless router.
  4. Wait for two minutes while the printer and router establish a network connection.
  5. If the printer has a basic control panel (no touchscreen or text navigation) or the WPS connection method did not work, temporarily connect the printer to the Mac with a USB cable, then change the connection type to wireless in the HP Utility software.
  6. Opt  printer type to set up the wireless connection.

Inkjet printers (Deskjet, Officejet, Photosmart)

  1. Connect with USB cable to the USB port present on the rear of the printer and to the computer.
  2. When the Software Update window displays, follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
  3. Opt the Apple menu, then opt System Preferences.
  4. Opt Print & Fax.

  1. click the name of the printer, then click Options & Supplies.
  2. Opt Utility, then opt Open Printer Utility.

  1. Opt Continue, then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the printer setup.

  1. Opt Wireless Setup.

  1. Make sure  network is listed on the Confirm Wireless Settings screen, then opt Continue to complete the wireless configuration.

  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and the computer.
  2. In the Print & Fax window, opt the name of the printer, opt the minus sign , then delete the USB installed printer.
  3. Opt the plus sign , then opt Add Printer.
  4. Opt the name of the printer with Bonjour as the kind, opt the Print Using box, then opt the name of the printer in the pop-up menu.
  5. Opt Add to add the printer to the list.
  6. Try to print, scan, or fax, depending on printer functionality.

LaserJet printers
Use the wireless setup tools in the HP Utility software to set up a LaserJet printer with a basic control panel on the Wi-Fi network.

  1. Connect a USB cable to the USB port on the rear of the printer , then to the computer.
  2. When the Software Update window displays, follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
  3. Opt the Apple menu, then opt System Preferences.

Wired (Ethernet) connection to the network
Connect the printer and the computer from the router with a standard Ethernet cable.
Step 1: Prepare for the connection

  1. have a network router, switch, or hub with available Ethernet ports.
  2. the computer is connected to the router, switch, or hub, if it is not already connected.
  3. Obtain an Ethernet cable.

step 3: Add the printer in the list
Create a new print queue in System Preferences on the Mac device.

  1. select Add to add the printer to the list.
    • If opt are asked to install the printer software from Apple, opt Download and Install to complete the installation.
    • If a ‘Software is currently unavailable’ message is prompted,select Cancel, then go to HP Printer Drivers for Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard (in English manually install the software from Apple.
  2. check print or scan, depending on printer functionality.
